Please don't go replace Sasser at Houston. Please.

Or supplement Sasser, Mark & Shead. If Houston wants him, would K.D. like to go back to his hometown and play his last season with a team that might have a legitimate shot at a Final Four appearance? Might be a really attractive option for him, although he would probably have to accept playing far fewer minutes as part of that team.

This has been one of the main stories on the front page of ESPN since it came out yesterday afternoon. Funny how we don't get much coverage/attention but when our star player enters the portal, now it is a national headline. I don't think there was even an obscure story when he won AAC POY.

IMO this makes no sense. He is not going to be drafted by the NBA. It was mentioned that he had 'responsibilities'. I would think his NIL would help in covering those while he gets a good education that he can fall back on later in life.

Oh well as the old saying goes- next man up.

It doesn't make sense to you, but it makes perfect sense for him. He just put himself out there to be recruited by everyone in the country as the most coveted free agent in college basketball. If a team is serious about winning big next year and lacks an elite PG, he could command a transformational amount of money by way of NIL deals. If he doesn't come back or go pro, I hope he gets 7 figures.

I think KD will love the attention of this. When it is all said and done SMU NIL money will be very significant if needed for him.
Since KD and Band would both be using their COVID year if they came back, I am not sure if those scholarships count against our 13. They certainly did not in football last year - that is why so many came back. My understanding was that if you used your extra COVID year at your current school (where you lost some games to COVID in 20-21) that the scholarship $ did not count against the 13 or the 85. Not sure if that was just for this past year, or it is that way until those extra COVID year people leave the school. So Lanier may have more scholarships available than we thought.

I will be sad to see Kendrick go but I am not all that surprised. His main connection to SMU was coach Jank and when he retired that connection is gone.

I see a package deal coming here. Kansas hires a new, recently “retired” coach as an assistant to Self. KD goes to KU.

Jank will have a good amount of influence on KD here. The only way he stays a Mustang is if the NIL $ here are significant.

KD should do what's best for him and his family. I just hope he decides that's what's best is a return to SMU.

I think a return to SMU is no longer a possibility. As such I hope he gets drafted in the second round.

A lot of rumblings about TCU as a destination. I hope he is just playing UH vs TCU to get the best offer out of Houston.

Best though is if he gets drafted.

I really feel it’s time for Phelps to get the minutes KD was getting. Best for the future of the program IMO.

See him tweeting about his Memphis visit and has the tiger fans excited.

I see this as revenge on SMU for forcing Jank out.

Ultimately, I think he lands at a Big12 or ACC school, he needs the elevated conference competition to take his game up a notch.

Might be fun watching KD vs Zhuric next year
