I would love to see him come back. I really think that he would like Lanier's style of offense and he is a big time contributor on defense.

Bandoumel has proven he was SMU's most capable defensive guard and also proved to be pretty effective as a guy who could slash to the hoop. With no K.D. controlling the ball, he and Nutall might both enjoy an up and down 94 foot style, if that is in fact what Lanier wants to bring to Moody next year. Several of us can remember Nolan Richardson's "40 minutes of hell" when he relied on a deep roster and pressured opposing teams all over the floor the entire game. I like the idea as long as Lanier can attract the right guys to play for him next year.

I love 40 minutes of hell, but you better be able to recruit incredible athletes. Memphis (Calipari), UAB (Anderson, a Richardson disciple), and Arkansas (Richardson) come to mind as successful implementations in the past.

SMU won't have a roster of 4 & 5 star players so it's important to be 10 deep with little if any drop off in talent level

Between his defense and leadership, getting Bandoumel back would be huge even if he never took another shot.

Any word on Nutall?

I thought it was decided already that Nutall is coming back.
Am I wrong?

Bandoumel announced on social media that he is declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft ... but retaining his eligibility.

It's great he has that option just in case he doesn't get drafted.

I hope he comes back so I can see him against KD next year.

This

That is KD's greatest weakness in his game, he can be taken out of the offense by a tough, physical defender.

Better option for him than the NBA draft. Make some money playing college ball before you decide whether to try to make it professionally, even if it means playing overseas
