I like the sound of playing fast and making the opponents uncomfortable. Hopefully this bunch can go 10 deep without any big drop off and they can apply full court man to man defensive pressure for the better part of 40 minutes. I seem to recall Lanier's Georgia State teams having that reputation and style.

Contrasting Lanier's team last year vs Jank's SMU team, Ga State had 10 guys average double figure minutes per game while Jank had 8 guys (and that included Jasey who only played 15 games). Lanier had 9 guys who had double digit steals on the season while SMU had only 6. SMU had a 1.1 assist to turnover ratio as did our opponents whereas Lanier's team had a 1.2 ratio and their opponents managed only an 0.8 ratio.

As Lanier said in his interview, he hasn't quite seen the intensity he's looking for yet but hopefully we have the athletes to make his style successful here.

Sounds like Larry's promise to "pick 'em up at the airport."

He produced HERE the first part of last season. It’s easy to forget that he scored 20 against Vandy — and already had 14, 13, and 15 point games in a SMU uniform before that. No idea why that changed, but I expect big things out of him this year.

He won't have to play in K.D.'s shadow and that might help
