I was surprised how little resistance there was to letting LB go. I would rather have let him, worst case, sanction our program into rubble than roll with random coaches and end up where we are now.

If it makes anyone feel any better, Houston is #1 in the nation.

One of the worst ( and there have been many) if not the worst, decisions made by our administration. It’s no wonder we are sub par.

At a school with so many big money donors like SMU it makes me wonder who is actually calling the shots. Was this one of those hires recommended by hired consultants?

Houston #1 in the nation.

TCU in the CFP playoff.

SMU heading to the new CUSA 2.0.

We need a change of leadership BAD.

Pye not letting Larry Johnson come to a SMU is right there with the Larry Brown and re-seat debacle. The two bozos we have as AD and President need to be relieved of their offices and let the SMU Athletic teams & community move forward!

Like or AD has done, maybe we need to lower our expectations and settle for being somewhat competitive in a Conference USA-like environment playing second tier teams.

People at SMU sit around saying Houston sucks or TCU sucks. No, they're elite.

The 2022-23 season debut of the NCAA's NET rankings -- a tool used by the NCAA Tournament selection committee to evaluate a team's résumé was released Monday.

SMU came in at 282

Has to be one of the all-time lows for this program.

To put this in even more perspective - the following two schools that have yet to win a game this year are ranked just ahead of SMU:

0-7 Arkansas Pine Bluff of the SWAC (#280)
0-5 Cal State Northridge of the Big West (#281)

We are also behind UTRGV and may be the worst ranked team in the state that is not in the Southland Conference (which is annually the worst conference in the NCAAs).

this team and the coaches are a real dumpster fire. I hope no NIL money was wasted on they guys. If this disaster continues IMO there will need to be a coaching change made at the end of the year.

I would be interested to see what our peer schools like Duke and Villanova would do if they were in this situation.

So at # 282 NET we are the lowest ranked team in the AAC. Jackson State sits at # 315 despite the fact they beat us on our home court. Evansville is appropriately behind us at # 317 and Lamar is at # 343 while A&M Commerce is well ahead of us at # 203.The question is whether this team will make a run at those 6 win seasons under Bliss and Shumate that were the worst in all the years I've followed SMU basketball
