All very good points.

As several pointed out, SMU stopped playing in the second half like they had done for most of the tournament. It is hard to believe, and almost laughable to say, but it felt like SMU started being over confident and cocky and were just waiting for the clock to hit zero so they could collect their championship trophy.

Hopefully, that loss gave them an important lesson and will serve them well as we move into conference play. Still not sure how this will go, you could make an argument for SMU finishing anywhere between 3rd and 9th in the conference standings. I think we will get one or two surprise wins, the key will be is whether or not we can win consistently, especially against similarly matched teams.

Think TCU in football, they were picked to finish 7th in the Big 12. They did not have a superior team to their conference mates, but they won close games every week against teams they were evenly matched against. That is what separates finishing near the top versus near the bottom.

Ready for conference play to start and see how we match up.
