SMU's 0-8 effort from three included too many shots that looked like our guys' hearts were stuck in their throats. Saw a couple of opportunities for a pump fake and opportunity for a one dribble open 2 point shot or possibly to penetrate and keep moving the ball to challenge the defense. Unfortunately, Houston's quickness might have precluded those options...or at least that's what our guys decided.

Ponies now 0/10 from long range — a far cry from their 14-26 shooting from behind the arc against Tulsa.

When it got to 18-4, I had to leave for choir practice, I checked my phone and saw like 34-6. When I got home, I decided to watch the Caps game instead.

A truly disgraceful effort by the players and especially the head coach. The women's team would have been more competitive - much more competitive. Doubled up in rebounding. There is a lot more of this humiliation and embarrassment coming down the pike - starting with super size helping tomorrow.

That game last night proves only that Houston has Final Four talent and SMU doesn't have the athletes to compete at their level. The true measure of what lies ahead for this season comes Sunday @ UCF. The Knights are among those "next level" AAC teams and it will be interesting to see whether this SMU team can compete with that level program on the road. I'm not expecting much and hope our guys are at least competitive as it would give me hope the can find more success at Moody, but this will be a good test of their character coming off a humiliating road loss.
