Phelps yells after final buzzer — looked like a lot of emotion pouring out

Mustangs improve to 9-16, 4-8 in AAC

Up next: Feb 12 at Wichita State

So glad we got the W. The student section looked at best 60%. Didn’t come across as an arena with lot of energy on TV.

This team doesn’t make anything easy.

Very big win for SMU! To avoid embarrassing ourselves while pitching the PAC-12 commissioner is huge! Also, having a shot at 10 wins this season is a very nice bonus. While that is pretty pathetic, at one point 10 wins looked like a very long shot so I am glad to see that we are terrible but inching away from pathetic.

The little bump in attendance last night makes a big difference in Moody. If we could just attract 5k or more for every game it would be huge in terms of providing late game energy to help the team

Yes; Just a week ago I did not see this team reaching 10 wins and now it would be a huge disappointment for them not to reach at least 10 wins. Beating Temple was a surprise and I expect this team to beat ECU when they come to Moody

I'm speechless - almost.
How in the world did they win that game? 56% on free throws. 35 minutes of 2-13 from Nutall.
Phelps 4-9 on free throws. He can't even begin to pretend to be a quasi, semi, partly, future elite player or a team leader with his abysmal free throw shooting.

The building had pretty good energy last night and it was very good at certain points. Certainly not what it could be, but it was better. There were a lot of students there - not just in the student section, but spread out all over the place.
If SMU is good and wins games, people will come.

And if we play good teams. We’ll do fine in the PAC-12, if that comes to pass.

Just won't have any more visitor attendance as a member of the PAC than we've had in the AAC. At least we could count on Houston to bring some fans so we'll see if SMU fans alone show up on their own as well as they did in the SWC days, which was really only slightly better than we're seeing these days. Long live the 1500!

If we are good and playing an Oregon, the place will be packed.

And both Arizona schools and probably Stanford.
