It was the smart play. Unfortunately.

USF just played with more energy in the 2nd half and whipped us on the boards. Harris went off on us again and we just can't make FTs when we need to. At least this team won 10 games which didn't look like was going to happen mid season. No lead is too big for this team to blow given their inability to shoot FTs.

Missed FTs by Phelps and tough missed layup by Nutall. Harris just went off.

Memphis on Thursday night.

Yep; next home loss. Pretty bad when you can't go .500 at home and lose to a 10-18 Jackson State team in Moody. Not the worst SMU team I've watched through the years as this team has lost 8 games by 5 or fewer points. Hopefully Lanier can find some impact guys for next year and get this thing turned around quickly

That lost at least 5 games due to terrible free throw shooting.

Arguably the women just lost to Memphis in OT due to bad FT shooting. With 0.9 seconds left and up one, SMU player misses first FT and swishes second one when bounce off rim would’ve ended the game. Ball advances and Memphis drains a trey on catch and shoot.

MBB @ USF

Hard to win when you're playing 4 on 5 for 29 minutes. 2 points, 2 assists, 0 rebounds, 5 fouls. Coaches are playing on their phones instead of watching the games. Basketball program not on life support; just dead.

Our coaching contracts should have a clause that if you lose 20 games then your salary drops to 100k. School record for losses coming right up.

You obviously weren't around for the early Dave Bliss years when his teams went something like 7-22 and 6-23 before he was able to bring in some impact players and compete at a Top 25 if not Top 10 level

with today's environment of the transfer portal and NIL there is no valid excuse for a coach not putting a decent team on the floor. If we don't kill it in the off season recruiting then a serious re-evaluation needs to take place.

Bliss, Shumate, and Doherty each lost 21. Lanier will almost certainly break the record.
