Three Mustangs Earn All-Conference Honors

IRVING, Texas (The American/SMU) – Savannah Wilkinson and Jasmine Smith have been named to the All-American Athletic Conference Second Team, the league announced Sunday. Ella Brow was named to the All-Freshman team.

Smith has started and played 21 games this season, averaging 13.1 points and 4 rebounds per game. Smith's 2.19 steals and 4.19 assists per game rank fourth in the American. Smith had a career-high 26 points and reached 1100 career points earlier this season against then-No. 25 USF. Smith broke the SMU single-game record with 12 assists against North Texas on Dec. 7. She collected AAC Co-Player of the Week honors on Dec. 5 after her performance at the Raising the B.A.R. tournament. Smith was named to the weekly honor roll once this season.

A unanimous selection on the Preseason All-AAC team, Wilkinson lands on the second team after averaging 11.7 points and 7.6 rebounds. She reached 800 career points and eclipsed 100 career assists against Tulane. Wilkinson played in 26 games and started 22 last season, earning second team All-Conference honors. Wilkinson has appeared on the AAC Honor Roll twice this season.

A freshman from Palm Beach, Australia, Ella Brow was named to the All-Freshman team. Brow is averaging 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Brow was crowned AAC Freshman of the Week on Jan. 16 after wins against Cincinnati and ECU.

No. 5 SMU is set to face No. 4 Houston in the AAC Championship quarterfinal Tuesday at 2 p.m. CT in Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
