SMU To Host Little Rock Thursday In WNIT First Round

DALLAS (SMU/WNIT) – The SMU women's basketball team was one of 64 selected to play in the WNIT. The Mustangs will host Little Rock Thursday at 7 p.m. in Moody Coliseum in the first round.
SMU finished the regular season and conference tournament with a 16-12 record under second-year head coach Toyelle Wilson. Savannah Wilkinson, Jasmine Smith and Ella Brow each earned All-American Athletic Conference honors.
Jasmine Smith leads the team with 12.7 points per game. Chantae Embry (12.0) and Savannah Wilkinson (11.6) join Smith in averaging double-digits. Wilkinson and Embry have both earned five double-doubles this season.
This is the ninth overall and second consecutive WNIT appearance for the Mustangs. SMU fell in the first round of the 2022 WNIT, its last postseason appearance. The Mustangs advanced to the third round of the 64-team bracket in 2017.
