Cross Country Finishes Fifth At C-USA Championships

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (SMU) --- The SMU cross country team finished fifth at the C-USA Championship today. The race was a 5k run hosted by the University of Tulsa at the Indian Springs Country Club.
Leading the Ponies, Mary Alenbratt finished 10th and set a 5k personal best time of 17:07. As a result of her finish, Alenbratt was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team.
Senior Aasha Marietta set a personal best time of 17:48 placing 25th. The Mustangs had four finishers in the top-30 overall. Monika Korra coming in 27th with a time of 17:53 and Klara Bodinson completing the race in 17:56 for a 29th place finish, rounding out the group for SMU.
Freshmen Lovisa Lindh, Catriona McClowry and Caitlin Keen competed in their first C-USA Championship posting times of 18:22, 18:29 and 18:36, respectively.
SMU will be competing in the NCAA South Central Regionals on November 13 in Waco, Texas.
