C-USA 2005

On this website under "institution profile", it lists interesting facts about our competition next year. It was sad to note that SMU will only compete in 5 Men's sports in C-USA (9 Women's)...football, basketball, soccer, golf and tennis. All other institutions will have more Men's teams, including the private schools. I wonder why?

Perhaps some of them have larger budgets than we have and can afford more women's sports and thus more men's sports. Also swimming is not a men's CUSA sport. Not enough schools have kept men's swimming to compete in that sport.

Because we only have 6 men's sports and very few conferences sponsor swimming.
