"peaker" is right -- there is a TON of talent on this team. The Baileys are tremendous players, and they'll get the majority of the headlines because they'll score a ton of goals. They definitely missed Krystal Bailey the other day against North Texas, but they're still going to score a bunch of goals. The Baileys will benefit a lot when Olivia O'Rear gets back, and they're going to get set up a lot by Jena Lind, who already has several assists this year. She transferred in from Mizzou, and she appears to be a terrific passer … Against UNT, there were a couple defensive breakdowns (one UNT player scored all three goals). Having Susanne Collins at a defensive midfield spot and Ashley Watson at defender give them some veteran presence back there, but as "peaker" points out, missing Alyssa Pembroke has hurt. I don't make most of the road games, so I didn't see the injuries that Pembroke, O'Rear and Carter suffered. But I talked to Coach Cossaboon, and one of the things about which he's most excited is the depth on this team. Granted, it's only Coach Coss's second year, but as he pointed out, several key players are out and the team finally has the depth -- quality depth -- that they still can run a full scrimmage in practice and get the work they need. There are some great starters on this team, but the reserves are better than they've been in years. Now the foundation for the team's future is almost as overwhelming as the current roster leaders.
