I was not either but I do know how to do a cost benefit analysis. It appears the track program was dropped without a serious look at how the program benefited the school on a national and worldwide level as well as the direct benefit to the football program. It was simply a money decision without any effort made to see if the necessary funding could be raised from outside sources. If we can raise $10 million + for football coaches, buyouts, etc., why cannot enough money be raised for a men's track program if there is a significant benefit of such a program to the school and the athletic program.

Tulane is bringing back men's cross country and track & field for the fall of 2008. Come on SMU, we can do better than that! If we can land JJ we can certainly field a track team!
