CREIGHTON

Postby mustangbill67 » Mon Nov 26, 2007 11:53 am

We should have a good shot at taking Creighton on Wednesday. Creighton lost to Tulsa 3-1 and only beat MO State 1-0, a team we recently dominated. Creighton also lost to Bradley in the finals of the MVC tournament, a team we also recently beat. It will nonetheless be a tough game as we are playing on the road and Creighton is a very good team.

Creighton is tough. Just looked at weather.com, which said Omaha is supposed to be 36 degrees at game time. Ouch. Plus, they average more than 3,000 fans per game. They're beatable, but they're a very good team. We finished No. 5 in the NSCAA poll, they finished No. 7. Wish I could be there (brrrrrr....)

Don't mean to get ahead of myself or anything, but I was just looking at the bracket...if both SMU and Ill.-Chicago (they play Northwestern) win their next games, who would host that third round game? I would think SMU.

Just saw this on SMUMustangs.com - pretty in-depth look at Wednesday's game:

Hopefully this year we ARE the eventual national champion, so six teams can say they lost to us.

Yup - if UI-C knocks off Northwestern and we knock off Creighton, we should host, I believe.

just went to 3-0. this team does not compare to the team of two years ago, we looked mediocre at best. no passing, no urgency, no chemistry. two years ago we woulda for sure beat this creighton team. very disappointing showing tonight. absolutely no forward presence up top
