Mustang Men Swimmers Finish 2nd @ Classic

SMU finishes second to Texas All-stars (team of Olympians and ex-college swimmers) at The Classic.

Truly outstanding swimming performance. Fast times, fast pool (though we still new a new Natatorium)

On a serious note: what makes a pool fast? is it because it's over the band hall? or slant bottom or what?

The music is uplifting, but does not make the molecules in the water vibrate faster to speed the swimmers along.

Fast pool are effected by the depth of the water, the gutter system, lane markers (today, plastic rings with blades that spin with the waves) and the width of the lanes.

Like tracks, swimmers do feel some pools are faster than others. Perkins Natatorium is considered fast, but antiquated = (six lanes vs. eight or more, short course (25 yd. long x less than 20 yds. wide vs. long course (50 meters, Olympic distance x 25 yards wide) and no separate diving area or well.
