SMU In Fourth At Burns Intercollegiate

O`ahu (SMU)- The SMU men's golf team is in fourth place after 36 holes at the John Burns Intercollegiate at the 6,917-yard, par 72 Leilehua Golf Course. SMU is now at 20-under 556 and trails leader Auburn by five shots in the 21-team event.

Individually, freshman Kelly Kraft jumped up into the top 10 after a second-straight round in the 60s. The Texas native shot 68 in round two and is tied for eighth at 7-under 137. He is three shots out of the lead. Ben Tewes also shot 68 on Thursday and is now tied with teammate James Minahan in 14th at 5-under 139. Scott Barton's 69 placed him in 30th at 3-under 141, while Draegen Majors is 92nd at 7-over 151.

An SMU golfer has won this event in each of the last two seasons, as Brandon DeStefano won in 2006 and Frank Wrenn emerged victorious in 2007.
