Volleyball Hosts Eight Teams for Spring Tournament Saturday
Ole Miss, TCU, Texas Tech and UTEP Among Those Competing


April 1, 2008

DALLAS (SMU)--The SMU women's volleyball team hosts their spring tournament this Saturday, April 5 in Moody Coliseum and Crum Basketball Center. The Mustangs will welcome eight teams to campus, competing in a total of 16 matches.

Joining the Mustangs for the tournament will be Ole Miss, Texas-Arlington, Texas State, Abilene Christian, TCU, Texas Tech, UTEP and Frank Phillips.

The teams will play abbreviated matches consisting of two games to 25 points. The matches will take place simultaneously on two courts. Court one is on the floor of Moody Coliseum and will be highlighted by matches between SMU and Ole Miss, TCU and Texas Tech, Ole Miss and Texas Tech and SMU and Texas-Arlington. Court two will be in the Crum Center and will include matches between Texas-Arlington and UTEP, Texas Tech and UTEP, Abilene Christian and TCU and TCU and UTEP.

Court 1 (Moody Coliseum)
9:00 a.m. - SMU vs. Ole Miss
10:00 a.m. - TCU vs. Texas Tech
11:00 a.m. - SMU vs. Texas State
12:00 p.m. - Ole Miss vs. Texas-Arlington
1:00 p.m. - Ole Miss vs. Texas State
2:00 p.m. - SMU vs. Texas-Arlington
3:00 p.m. - Texas State vs. Abilene Christian
4:00 p.m. - Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech

Court 2 (Crum Basketball Center)
9:00 a.m. - Texas-Arlington vs. UTEP
10:00 a.m. - Abilene Christian vs. Frank Phillips
11:00 a.m. - Texas Tech vs. UTEP
12:00 p.m. - Abilene Christian vs. TCU
1:00 p.m. - Texas Tech vs. Frank Phillips
2:00 p.m. - TCU vs. UTEP
3:00 p.m. - UTEP vs. Frank Phillips
4:00 p.m. - Abilene Christian vs. TCU

If you guys do go out you will enjoy the Texas State match-up. We did very well in our own tournament last weekend. Texas State has the 10th winningest coach (in total number of wins) in the NCAA and was an NCAA tournament team in 2007.
