Good start D is as good as advertised and offense got opportunistic. A good start to the season against a credible opponent. UVA on Sunday will be a real good barometer of where this squad is.

Ha - sorry, I wasn't clear.

They played OD, but they played the game AT UVa ... so my remark meant scoring error by the UVa folks staffing the game.

From the box score, it looks like we played a 3-4-3 with the three iron men in the back, Cruz, Lopez and Mirsky. I assume with four midfielders, one of the center MF is an attacking MF and the other is a defending MF. As advertised, it looks like McClements is going with an attacking style of play. Should be fun to watch.

We signed 15 new freshman players. Only one started, Ryan Rosenbaum (F). In addition five other freshman played, Payton Hickey, Brian Farkas, Chad Vandergriffee, Arthur Ivo and Diogo de Almeida . Interestingly, although someone mentioned that Scott Geppert was going to red shirt this year to get healthy, he played in the game as a sub.

That was Manuel Mariel who started. Rosenbaum didn't make the trip.

so how did this get screwed up? Manuel Mariel is #8 on the roster while Rosenbaum is #27. Did the names and the numbers get mixed up when the travel roster was submitted? Manuel Mariel is not even listed in the box score.
