DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU men's soccer team's victories over Old Dominion and the University of Virginia en route to winning the University of Virginia Classic championship in Charlottesville over the weekend sparked a significant jump for the Mustangs in the newest national rankings.

The Ponies now head to the West Coast for another tough tournament, taking on traditional power Stanford at 3:30 p.m. (central time) Friday and Cal - which is ranked No. 8 this week by collegesoccernews.com and No. 11 by the NSCAA - at 4:30 p.m. (central time) Saturday.

SMU opens the home portion of its schedule the following weekend, taking on George Mason at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and Oakland at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 in the SMU Classic Tournament. For a complete schedule and ticket information, log on to SMUMustangs.com or call 214-SMU-GAME.
