SMU Lacrosse Wins Tourney

Postby MustangLaxer » Mon Nov 17, 2008 2:28 am

SMU Lacrosse Wins the Texas A&M Shootout. Although just a fall tournament, its a good sign for positive things to come. SMU beat TCU and Texas State along the way, and then toppled UNT, who was coming off a win against A&M, for the championship. Alex Poole is making a difference already. Nice Job Lax.

Thanks, Laxer, congratulations on Tournament.

Reminds me of a similar victory at College Station in 2001, when we won the event before a great regular season in follwing spring. It helped start us our path to the A league membership and very competitive LAX on the hilltop.

BTW, any update on Perrin?

the goalie who transferred from wittenburg is Phil Quist. He is projected to start this season. There is a talented goalie from Gilman also, Cary Nelsen.

Is there a schedule posted anywhere?

Youth lacrosse is taking off around Dallas - there might be some good ways to join forces with some of the high school club teams - would help both organizations. HP, ESD and St Marks are some of the strongest in the state.
