SMU lacrosse will kick off its season under new head coach Alex Poole on Saturday, January 31st at 1pm. The game will be played at the SMU intramural field.

The season will open up against Texas State. Last year SMU handled the Bobcats in San Marcos. Lets start the season off right guys!

SMU was picked 3rd in the LSA preseason poll behind A&M and Texas.

If the Ponies are projected at third, then the Lone Star Conference is going to be quite strong this year.

As always, preseason rankings mean very little. SMU will continue to be ranking below A&M and Texas until SMU beats them in the regular season. . .

Looked like a nice crowd for the game. Were these SMU fans or just area LAX fans?

SMU closed the game on a 6-1 run which spanned the entire 2nd half to win.

There was a nice crowd. A good portion of it were youth players coming to check out the scene, but they cheered for the ponies!
