Good Luck

The SMU women's swimming & diving team qualified 10 swimmers to compete at the NCAA Championships on March 19-21 in College Station.

Ranked 16th in the nation, the Mustangs are just 15 points behind Penn State for 15th place.

Mustangs competing in the event include seniors Candace Blackman and Petra Klosova. Klosova swam the 100 free in a shattering time of 48.58 in the C-USA Championship, February 28. Klosova will be swimming the 100 free and 100 back, while Blackman will be competing in the 50, 100, and 200 free events.

Junior Devon Callaghan will look to capture the 100 breast as teammate Britney Yancey will dive in the 1-meter and 3-meter events.

Sophomore, Audra Egenolf was edged out by a three-point differentiation in the C-USA Championship diving event. She will look to redeem herself as she competes in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform diving events.

Sascha Van den Branden qualified for the 50 and 100 free and will also be joined by teammate Gabriela Soza.

Competing in the fly events is freshman Christy Lategan in the 200 and sophomore Elzanna Werth in the 100.

Freshman Therese Svendsen will be joining Klosova in the 100 back and will also compete in the 200.

We finished 19th overall. Got points in all the relays, and Audra Engloff took 6th place on the platform. No points in individual swimming events. UH took 17th. Young team still performed well at Nationals. Look for better things next year.
