No. 23 SMU Women's Tennis Improves To 4-0 With Wins Over La. Tech & Texas State
Mustangs Have Won 20 Of 21 Points Through Four Matches

DALLAS (SMU) - The No. 23 SMU Women's Tennis team improved to 4-0 after a 7-0 sweep of Louisiana Tech and a 4-0 victory over Texas State on Sunday. The Mustangs are a combined 21-1 in the first four dual matches. Up next, the Mustangs head to NCAA Regional Indoor Championships on Jan. 29-30 in Gainesville, Fla. SMU faces Florida International in the first round and then Florida or BYU in the second match.

No. 47 Marta Lesniak (11-3) won 48 games against just seven losses in her first four dual matches at No. 1 singles. In No. 2 singles, No. 76 Aleksandra Malyarchikova (9-3, 4-0 dual) went 48-11 in games over the first four dual matches of the season. Pavi Francis improved to 6-3 (3-0 dual) at No. 3 singles.

In doubles, the No. 15 duo of Lesniak and Malyarchikova (8-2) improved to 3-0 in dual matches going 24-2 in games over the opening weekend.
