Adair, Powell Named To C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas (C-USA/SMU) --- SMU's Caitlin Adair and Dana Powell were named to the Conference USA All-Academic Volleyball team by the league today. Both Adair and Powell make the team for the first time in their careers.
Adair, a senior Psychology major, maintains a 3.946 GPA and has earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll each semester while at SMU. Earlier this season, the middle blocker was selected to first team CoSIDA Academic All-District. Adair has started every match this season for the Mustangs and is second on the team with 1.03 blocks per set.
Powell holds a 3.512 GPA as a Business and Accounting double major and has led the Mustangs this season in kills with 396 and is second with 429 digs. Powell is one of only seven players in program history to total over 1,000 career kills and digs.
The all-academic team was selected by the league's Sports Information Directors and consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or higher.
