SMU, ranked No. 10 in the latest Varsity Equestrian poll, travels to Waco to face No. 5 Baylor in a Hunter Seat competition at 10am Saturday.

The Mustangs are currently 5-2. Baylor will pose a tough challenge as always - they are undefeated in the Hunter Seat portions of their competitions so far this season.

On the bright side, SMU did compete against Baylor in an exhibition in Waco in early September, and Baylor barely edged SMU 6-5. The familiarity with the stable and the horses will obviously be an advantage for SMU compared to other road meets.

SMU fell to 5-4 on the season with a 9-3 loss to Baylor today.

SMU won fences 4-2, including a point from the great Jordyn Pettersen. Freshman Emma Roberts also earned a point over fences and is still undefeated on the season.

The Mustangs' weakness on the flat unfortunately reared its ugly head today. Baylor was 5-1 on the flat with the only SMU point from Courtney Line.

That is it until February for the equestrian team. Things are certainly looking better than last year. Hopefully by the spring we will be ready to start beating some of the top teams.
