Men's Soccer - Coaching staff changes

Postby DanFreibergerForHeisman » Sun Jan 29, 2012 9:29 am

Phil Wolf took the head coaching job at some place called Point Loma Nazarene University.

So now we are down a top assistant in both of our soccer programs. Interesting.

Sorry to see him go. He was pretty highly thought of as an assistant, wasn't he?

It is a HC job, but really?? point loma nazarine is a very small school in San Diego. Wow. Even in SD, point loma is barely known.

Go Ponies!

Looks like we are going to have another highly ranked men's recruiting class from I can tell from the soccer services. We will need it as we go to the Big East.

Wolf came from a NAIA school and he is returning to one. From his bio, it appears he is into the faith based college environment, which is what he is going to get. Good luck to him and hope he finds what he needs.

Point Loma is a great smaller school in a fabulous setting. Google Earth the location and you'll see it's sitting on the bluff overlooking the Pacific - spectacular. It's very well thought of in the Christian community as an excellent place to get a faith-based education. A friend's wife just graduated from their nursing school for a career change (relocating from several states away) and I've heard nothing but great things about it.

For a Christian coach looking for a terrific place to live, this seems like an awesome opportunity for him. And I dare say McClements will have an easier time filling his AC spot than Erwin will.
Don't confuse me with the facts; I've made up my mind.

Agree. Very good school from what I've heard too living here in Southern Calif.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
