IRVING, Texas (SMU) - SMU swimmer Isabella Arcila has been named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week after she won two individual events during a 135-105 Mustang win over cross-town rival TCU.

Arcila continued her strong freshman season, winning the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, touching the wall in 23.47 and 51.11, respectively. The freestyle specialist also swam the lead-off leg of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay as SMU won the event in 1:34.08.

The award is Arcila's first of her career.

The 13th-ranked Mustangs host No. 4 Texas in a dual meet at Perkins Natatorium on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Looks like we have had several CUSA Swimmer of the Week awards.
No coincidence that the swim teams are back in the national rankings.

Our antiquated facilities are still killing recruiting. We can only attract foreign students who are outstanding in the class room. Do not be surprised some day to wake up and read that the ceiling to Perkins Natatorium has collapsed into the pool.
