DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's soccer team is ranked No. 16 in the NSCAA Preseason National Rankings.

SMU is coming off of a year in which the team won the Conference USA Championship, was the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and posted a 13-7-1 record on the season.

The Mustangs open the 2012 campaign against Campbell on Aug. 24 at Westcott Field at 7:30 p.m.

Season tickets are on sale now for $27. Individual game tickets are $6 for adults, and $3 for children 12 and under. Special group ticket prices are available. Tickets can be purchased online at SMUMustangs.com or by calling 214-SMU-GAME.

Preseason polls obviously don't mean too much but I imagine 16 is about right.

We certainly have some question marks going into this season (replacing three starters on defense, filling the minutes of the departed transfers). The incoming class will need to be as impressive as their reputation.

This will be a big year for the program to consolidate the accomplishments of the past two years.
