SMU is back home Friday night against UTEP at 7pm.

The Miners are 7-4-0, but are 0-2-0 in C-USA. They ran up a 7-2-0 non-conference record and were even ranked regionally, but those nine games featured five teams with an RPI over 200 and two teams with an RPI over 300! Things caught up with them last week as they dropped C-USA matches at East Carolina and at Marshall.

The Mustangs (4-5-1, 0-1-1) will be looking to get back on track after outplaying Houston and Rice for the majority of 200 minutes last weekend but only getting one point for the effort.

SMU could really use a nice win in this one.

Go Ponies!

After a lackluster first half, SMU came to life with three second half goals and put a 3-0 win on UTEP tonight!

Mallory Baum scored on a penalty kick after Olivia Elliott was hauled down in the box. Then, just a few minutes later, a Courtney Smith throw in led to a UTEP hand ball in the box and Olivia Elliott buried the resulting penalty kick.

Rikki Clarke added the third on a perfect cross from Olivia Elliott after Shelby Redman got things started with a nice pass into the danger area.

Shannon Moroney also had a nice night in goal and picks up the clean sheet.

SMU moves to 5-5-1 and 1-1-1 in C-USA and now faces a huge test Sunday against Colorado College.

Great night tonight for SMU! Go Ponies!
