M-Soccer: SMU at Akron (NCAA Sweet 16)

After a thrilling second round NCAA Tournament win at Denver Sunday, the No. 11 Mustangs head to Akron to face the No. 5 Zips in the third round Sunday afternoon. Start time is 3pm Central.

SMU is now 15-2-4 overall. After their win over Rutgers in the second round Sunday, Akron enters this match with a 16-3-2 record.

SMU is 1-2-0 all-time against the Zips. The most recent meeting was an exhilarating 3-2 Akron win in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Wetscott Field in 2011.

The own goals cancel each other out. SMU has been sloppy and sluggish on the counter. Need some magic to get 2 goals in the second half.
