PROVIDENCE, R.I. (SMU/AAC) – SMU men’s diver Bryce Klein picked up his fourth American Athletic Conference Diver of the Week honor this season, league officials announced on Tuesday. Klein secured a top-10 finish at USA Winter Nationals, and led the Mustangs at the Georgia Diving Invite.

Klein, who has already posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both the 1- and 3-meter, stepped away from NCAA competition in December to compete at USA Winter Diving Nationals. The sophomore posted a 379.1 in 3-meter to finish 11th in finals, and scored a 319.71 as part of a duo in 3-meter synchro to finish 10th.

In Athens, Klein finished third out of 31 divers in 3-meter prelims, scoring a 363.40 to advance to the event finals. In the afternoon session, Klein posted a 354.30, with an average round score of 59.05 to finish seventh. He kicked off day two with a total score of 319.95, good for eighth in prelims of the 1-meter, and improved his total to 322.95 to move up to the seventh spot in the event finals.

This is the fourth honor for Klein this season (Nov. 24, Nov. 10, Nov. 3).

Klein and the Mustangs are back in action today (Jan. 12) for a tri-meet against host Incarnate Word and Rice.
