Solid week for Colt ends with a T3 and a $504,000 paycheck helping practically assure his pga tour card for next season.

You'd think he would just go ahead and sign that over toward the IPF - after taxes of course.

Colt finished # 1 this week on greens hit in regulation. Really good to see him play well at Sawgrass, as up until now he's really struggled there. T-3 finish in this tourney that typically has as strong a field as any of the majors is really special. Hope he can sustain this level of play. If so, he's going to make Mustang fans proud this year and it's only a matter of time before he wins one.

Sadly, Colt, on his PGA bio, lists his favorite team as the Texas Longhorns. He at one point had a Longhorn on his bag. Until that changes, he will always be a mustang in my heart, but at the bottom of the list. Long live Kelly and Bryson.

Moved up to 61 on money list from 83. Add a few more top 5 finishes and he'll e in the top 50.

I agree it's sad that Colt is like so many others I knew when I was at SMU that seemed more interested in Texas or Notre Dame or their home state's team, but watch how quickly he becomes a bandwagon fan if/when Chad & Co get this thing rolling!

now that I think about it, "Big Gravy" might not have "gotten enough" to have fond memories of his days at SMU...and he was there "post death penalty" so he didn't really have much of a football team to cheer for (but we've discussed the loss of nearly a generation of fans due to apathy towards the program at all levels)

I can understand someone preferring the flagship program over a lowly SMU. But just look at the difference in how Bryson had portrayed himself vs. Colt. For all
I know Bryson's favorite FB team is TCU, but he does not put it out there and he is proud of his own school.

As Smusic said, Colt will be a Mustang in my heart but I am cheering loudest for Bryson and Kelly.

I think we all hope Bryson becomes "the man". He's already sporting the Payne Stewart cap and wears SMU colors. Just a shame he wasn't allowed to defend his NCAA title
