Bryce Klein Wins Three-Meter Bronze At USA Nationals

MOULTRIE, Ga. (SMU) — Junior diver Bryce Klein competed at the AT&T USA Diving National Championships, earning bronze in the three-meter springboard event Friday. The Southlake, Texas, native also placed fourth on one-meter to close out competition Saturday.

Klein finished with a six-round total of 371.25 in the three-meter event final, just 7.15 points off gold and .50 off silver. In semifinal action, Klein led the field with a score of 385.65.

One-meter semifinals saw Klein pick up the fourth-highest total of 329.40, thus securing a place in his second of two finals in Moultrie. Klein stayed consistent, registering a 326.55 for fourth place.

Klein earned his spot at the Championships after a standout performance on the one-meter at the Zone B Championships in July. He posted a 356.95 total in the final round to win by nearly nine points. In preliminary action, Klein was second only to synchro partner Bradley Christensen of Stanford with an opening-round total of 373.45.

On the three-meter, the Mustang secured a bye for the championships with his performance at Winter Nationals in December.

Klein is the reigning American Athletic Conference Diver of the Year and also holds SMU program records on both the one- and three-meter.
