Such an amazing match last night. Both teams played great but it is hard to argue SMU wasn't the more deserving team. Last night left no doubt this team is legit.

It is so great to have meaningful women's soccer back on The Hilltop. Last night was probably the biggest women's soccer game for SMU since Cossaboon's last season in the NCAA tournament in 2006.

Central Florida and South Florida played to a 1-1 draw tonight in Tampa, leaving SMU and Connecticut with the inside track for the regular season championship and the right to host the conference tournament, but there is obviously a long way to go in The American this season.

Current standings:

1. SMU (7, 2-0-1)
1. UConn (7, 2-0-1)
3. Memphis (6, 2-1-0)
3. Tulsa (6, 2-1-0)
5. USF (4, 1-1-1)
5. UCF (4, 1-1-1)
7. Cincinnati (3, 1-1-0)
8. Houston (3, 1-2-0)
9. ECU (0, 0-2-0)
10. Temple (0, 0-3-0)

Sunday matches:

Temple @ SMU
UConn @ Houston
Cincinnati @ Memphis
ECU @ Tulsa
