DALLAS (SMU)— The SMU men's soccer team fell to the USF Bulls, 1-0, Saturday night in double overtime at Westcott Field. The Mustangs are now 6-9-0 overall and 2-4 in The American, while the Bulls improve to 8-6-2 overall and 5-1 in American play.

Still scoreless after regulation and the first overtime, SMU and USF headed to double OT. USF's Liam McNally found a loose ball in a scrum of players roughly three yards from the goal line, and managed to find the back of the net in the 103rd minute.

SMU outshot the Bulls, 12-11. Junior defender Bryce Clark, freshman forward Garrett McLaughlin and senior Brenden Lee each took all three shots on goal for the Mustangs. Lee led the team with three total shots.

SMU's defense allowed only five shots on goal for the game. Junior goalkeeper Michael Nelson tallied four saves in 103 minutes of play.

The match marks the third consecutive year SMU has taken USF to double overtime. It was the last home game at Westcott Field for seven Mustang seniors. Michael King, Taylor Curtis, A.J. Jeffries, Nick Ruiz, Stanton Garcia, Brody Hickey and Brenden Lee were all honored before the game.

Next, SMU travels to face Connecticut on Nov. 5. The match is slated for 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT.
