Buss Advances At Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships
Buss Goes 1-1 Tuesday Against Nationally Ranked Opponents

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (SMU/ITA) – Junior Liza Buss continues her run at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships after winning her second singles match Tuesday at the Riviera Country Club.

In her first match, Buss fell to Anastaisa Rychagova of Kansas, 6-1, 6-2. Rychagova is currently ranked No. 35 in the Oracle/ITA rankings, while Buss is ranked No. 77.

However, Buss regrouped to defeat Old Dominion’s Holly Hutchinson, 7-5, 6-0, in the first round of the qualifying singles consolation bracket. Hutchinson is ranked No. 58 in the country.

Buss is scheduled to play No. 61 Stefana Andrei of ULM in the second round of the qualifying singles consolation bracket Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. CT.
