Noah finishing up the 9th hole in practice round at US Open at Shinnecock. Later he played in a Celebration of Champions but didn’t play very good. He did make a nice 20 foot putt.

Bryson said the course is a “clown course”. I am sure he will be ridiculed for that.

I'm sure he's not the only one feeling that way. Welcome to the U.S.Open...the tournament that challenges the world's best to shoot under par.

Haven't seen the final numbers but appears Bryson earned close to $80k yesterday for his T-25th at the Open. Once again, the USGA creates a challenge so difficult that not one of the world's best could stay at even par over the course of 72 holes. Bryson's "clown course" comment is now lost in the Phil Mickelson controversy. If Bryson had pulled that stunt, he undoubtedly would have been DQ'd and possibly suspended for a period of time.

Kelly tees off early and Bryson starts the afternoon round this week at The Travelers in Connecticut. If Bryson keeps playing well, how long before he gets included in one of the "power groupings"? The afternoon grouping has Bubba Watson with Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas. Morning grouping is Koepka with Webb Simpson and Patrick Reed. Guess he will have to win a major, but he's building a reputation. More wins and a strong Ryder Cup appearance would certainly help.

Looks like Bryson finished 9th and Kelly 47th. I noticed that the PGA is "investigating" Bryson's use of a compass (the geometry one not the directional one) during play. The other players should have stayed awake during math classes.

meanwhile, Kelly is out there grinding at the Quicken in Maryland this week. Currently # 116 on money list with $680k earned in 2018. He's had 2 top 10 finishes this season and sure could use another

I guess they need to take away Sharpie markers they use to draw a line on the golf ball to line up putts. About the same as what Bryson is doing.

Kelly at plus 2 looks to be missing the cut this week...unless a lot of guys blow up in the afternoon round and he can sneak into Saturday play along with what would be a large number of players. Looking right now like he misses the cut by at least one stroke. There are 7 other players finished round 2 sitting at plus 2 and at the time of this writing there are 8 others on the course at plus 2
