I do not mean to jinx him but after a rather slow start yesterday, Kelly opened today with 5 birdies on the first five holes and has jumped into 11th place.

Great to see DeChambeau leading the European Open and Kraft doing well in the Canadian Open! Hopefully both play well in the weekend.

Bryson now tied for the lead going into the final round. He needs to close out strong to get his first win on the European tour.

Do the European Tour points count in any way towards Ryder Cup? He just dropped out of the Ryder Cup automatic picks so I was hoping he would do well on the PGA events to get back into the mix. I am not sure his eccentric style will get him a captains pick.

Ouch. 3 par 5s in the last four holes and Bryson plays them in 5 over to drop from the lead with 4 to play to 13th final.

Bryson continuing to always find a way to make news:

https://golfweek.com/2018/07/30/bryson-dechambeau-i-apologize-to-richard-mcevoy-and-the-fans/

After cameras showed him briefly “congratulate” Porsche European Open winner Richard McEvoy on Sunday, DeChambeau understandably received some backlash on social media.

But Sunday evening, DeChambeau was quick to apologize to McEvoy on his Instagram account:

Tough finish today at the @peo_18 , but overall I had a great week in Hamburg. Thank you to Porsche European Open for having me. A terrific golf course with great support from the fans. I apologize to Richard McEvoy and the fans for my brevity on 18. He is a class act, worthy champion and I enjoyed playing with him the past two days. Looking forward to next week in Akron at the @wgc_bridgestone and continuing to work [deleted] my game.

Do people not understand you may be a little upset after a massive meltdown?

I know. What do they expect?

I didn't see it, but it sounds like Bryson at least acknowledged the winner.

It seems the media loves to create drama around Bryson.

Quick handshake and fast walk off. No real gentlemanly congrats with a few words. But it was one of the worst meltdowns I have ever seen. Lost ball. Couple in the water. Missed short putts. All in a few holes when he was in the lead.

Did he stomp around, throw his club, GLARE at the crowd. If your good at something, it make you mad to fall apart.

Maybe time will settle him down a bit.

Nice 3 under final round good for Bryson to finish at one under and all alone in 30th place out of 71 players at the WGC-Bridgestone. Not a bad finish after a tough opening round. Three rounds under par after opening 5 over.

Bryson and Kelly both shot one over opening rounds at the PGA which puts them right in the middle of the pack. Would be nice to see both make the cut tomorrow.

Kelly's plus 4 second round will have him headed home early. Bryson still on the course and one under through 4 holes today

Oh well...none of our Mustang golfers are playing at the PGA this weekend after Bryson missed the cut by one stroke

That missed cut, cost Bryson a guaranteed spot to the Ryder Cup. Now, he's got to be picked. If he's not well liked by other pros, don't see Furyk picking him. But then again, a Mustang helped clinch one in the past. So, maybe Furyk will think he's going to catch lightning in a bottle.
