McLaughlin Named to MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (SMU) - SMU junior forward Garrett McLaughlin was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List by the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club Thursday afternoon, presented by World Wide Technology.
The Oklahoma City, Okla. product was a First-Team All-American Conference selection last season after playing in all 21 games for the Mustangs. McLaughlin led the AAC in scoring, finding the back of the net 14 times, and points, amassing 31 total.
He had eight game winning goals as a sophomore and was also named a Third-Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches. The junior was twice the AAC Player of the Week last season and was also a Preseason All-Conference Selection.
The No. 8 ranked Ponies season kicks off at home Friday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. against Providence.
