Weird night at Westcott Field. SMU men's soccer dominated Providence for much of the night ... and lost in double overtime. SMU head coach Kevin Hudson visited after the game with PonyFans.com to discuss the performance.

I don't believe I've ever watched a game where one team dominated more and lost. No way to sugarcoat this one.

Totally agree with you, LA_Mustang. Ponies were getting outshot at halftime, 3-2; from then on, they outshot the Friars, 22-5. There was a bit of bad luck, and to be fair, the Providence goalkeeper was fantastic — he made a few saves that looked like sure goals. While disappointed with the loss, the Mustangs have to be encouraged by the way they played. SMU is replacing a truckload of talent and put on a strong performance Friday.

Sunday's game starts a half an hour earlier: kickoff is at 7 Sunday at Westcott Field.
