SMU announced today that men's soccer assistant coach Kevin Grimes is leaving the Hilltop to take over as head coach at Cal-Berkeley. Grimes was a great player at SMU and as a professional, and has been invaluable to the team as an assistant coach for the past three years. He is an exceptional teacher and is a gifted recruiter.

Our program remains in the more-than-capable hands of Schellas Hyndman — who just might be the best coach in the country. But Coach Grimes will be very hard to replace. Let's all hope he excels at Cal.

Coach Grimes was a great coach. He put so much time and heart into SMU soccer. He will truly be missed. He is very deserving of such a job! Good Luck Coach!
