Soccer injury

Postby DallasDiehard » Tue May 15, 2001 12:06 pm

I heard that all-America Carl Bussey blew out his knee in spring practice. Is this true? I'd heard there was some talk he might leave school early for the MLS Draft but stayed for a chance at the NCAA championship - it's a shame that this happened to such a great player and great young man.

Any word on whether he'll come back in time to play at all this year?

Good luck, Carl - Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

That's a crime that it happened to Carl - he's the best player in the country, if you ask me. Once he gets his knee back in shape (whether or not he plays for us again), he'll be a star in MLS. And from what I hear, he has a good chance to play for hte National Team one day.

Also, former SMU star Daniel Hernandez supposedly was getting close to getting an invitation from (National Team coach) Bruce Arena before he broke his kneecap. Hopefully we'll see him on the National Team, too.
