Meissner, Wong Named To Arnold Palmer Cup Watch List
NORMAN, Okla – The Arnold Palmer Cup released their fall rankings this week with sophomore Mac Meissner and freshman Ben Wong selected to the watch list.
The Arnold Palmer Cup serves as the premier annual team golf event for collegiate golfers. A team of the top 12 American collegiate golfers will face a 12-man International collegiate team for the Cup every summer. The Ryder-Cup style event uses the Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings to serve as the main qualifier for the event. Meissner was 14th in the American rankings while Ben Wong was ranked 19th among the International athletes.
The next rankings will be released on Feb 13. The final ranking in May will determine the first six competitors selected to represent the United States & International teams in the Cup. The 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup will take place at The Altotian Club, June 7-9, from Roland, Arkansas.
The pair will look to be the first Mustangs to compete in the event since Bryson Dechambeau was selected to the American team in 2014.
Meissner and Wong along with the rest of the Mustang golf team return to the course on Feb. 24 for the Auburn Invitational, the first event of the spring season.
