The storms that blew through Dallas Friday night brought an early end to the SMU women's soccer team's 3-0 victory over Western Athletic Conference rival Fresno State Friday night. Lightning in the area convinced the coaches and game officials to suspend the game with 14:40 remaining, and after a delay of nearly an hour, the game was called.

Sophomore midfielder Kim Harvey scored the Mustangs' first two goals. In the 12th minute, forward Tara Comfort wove her way past two FSU defenders and sent a pass into the center, where Harvey touched it into the open net to put the Ponies ahead, 1-0. Then, in the 15th minute, senior forward Sarah Harvey blew past the FSU defense down the right side of the field and cut back toward the center. She was knocked off the ball by a Fresno State defender, but the ball bounced right to her sister, and Kim Harvey buried the ball from 18 yards out to put SMU ahead, 2-0.

Comfort made the score 3-0 when she scored off an assist from senior defender Christina Collins.

The Mustangs return to action Sunday at 1 p.m. against San Jose State at Westcott Field.
