Don't know if it made the news in Dallas, but the San Jose Quakes of Major League Soccer cut former SMU star Luchi Gonzalez. What's next for him - anyone know?

You've got to wonder about this move. Either he was playing over his head last year - when he led the nation in scoring and won every award there was - or the Quakes have no idea how to evaluate talent. He was the best college player in America and they can't find a spot for him? They're not that loaded.

He was picked up yesterday by the Columbus Crew in the MLS Waiver Draft. He's now a teammate of former SMU goalkeeper Tom Presthus.
