SMU ranked 26th in NACDA Director's Cup final fall standings
SMU captured points in three fall national championships

SMU is ranked 26th with Thursday's release of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Directors' Cup final fall standings. SMU is the WAC's top-ranked school with Hawaii the next highest at 59th. SMU recorded a total of 146 points (32 - men's cross country; 50 - women's soccer; 64 - men's soccer). Eight-time champion Stanford University and Penn State close out the fall standings in the lead of the NACDA Directors' Cup Division I standings.

Stanford scored in five sports, including its national championship in men's cross country. The Cardinal also posted runner-up finishes in women's cross country, men's soccer and women's volleyball; and placed fifth in women's soccer, to record 443 points. Penn State totals 364 points.

The NACDA Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women's and 10 men's. Each national champion receives 100 points.
