Exempt Football/Title IX

Title IX has been wonderful for Women's sports. However, it has had a negative effect on the Men's side reducing scholarships in Men's non-football sports. Why have the NCAA members not made a move to Exempt Football from the Title IX calculations? Or have they. This would allow THE big money sport to continue while allowing schools the ability to add more scholarships to swimming/baseball/etc. or indeed add more sports for both men and women. Just makes sense to me for all student athletes.

I've been asking that same question for years. Seems like a pretty simple solution, but it wouldn't be "equal", would it?
