Women's Volleyball

Postby bubba pony » Tue Oct 14, 2003 11:59 am

quietly the women's volleyball team is kicking some butts. see the Dallas News article

http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/colleges/smu/stories/101403dnsposmuvolleyball.6c98a.html

I am a Volleyball fan and have played the game for many years and wish these young women all the success.

they play Hawaii in a few days, that’s like playing Miami in football. Hawaii draws about as many fans for volleyball as we do for football.
good luck

Don't forget, we've got to play at San Jose State first. If Hawaii is the Miami of volleyball, SJSU is at least .... Oklahoma State maybe? Not the best team in the country, but extremely talented.

What's even more impressive about the Ponies' winning streak is that they've played a lot of the season without Katy Moffet - she's a stud.

Go Ponies!

HONOLULU - The No. 2 University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine (19-1, 7-0 WAC) extended their WAC winning streak to 72 matches with a sweep of WAC Eastern Division-leading Southern Methodist Mustangs (15-5, 6-1 WAC) 30-25, 30-19 and 30-18 in front of a crowd of 8,436 at the Stan Sheriff Center Saturday.

Look at those scores, though. Those are very respectable scores against Hawaii, which is always one of the best teams in the entire country. That was no walk in the park for UH.

Great job, Mustangs - shock them in the tournament!

The band finally got a chance to go play for them the other night (Oct. 23rd) and it was wonderful. They showed so much heart and spirit and it made me even prouder to be a Mustang. If there were more of us, the band could go to all volleyball games, but unfortunately between Homecoming, football and upcoming basketball, the band is being pulled from all directions.

I'd just like to say great job ladies. And I can speak for the band by saying we're proud of you. Go Get Em!
Oh you gotta love it. The horns, the drums, the noise! It's all for the love of music, for the love of the game.

By the way, the women's NCAA championships are played in Dallas this year. wouldn't it be great, well you know where I'm going with this, the SMU women's VB teams makes the NCAA playoffs in their own front yard.

Saw that story Sunday morning on the PonyFans.com homepage. Congratulations to the Mustang volleyball team - you're doing a fantastic job!

Where are the NCAAs being played? Reunion? AAC?
