Greatest SMU Tennis player

I had to think about this one. Lots of greats. Hardie, Wallmark, Harmon, Ross and Reneberg. I guess Richey Reneberg gets the nod due to winning the US Open Men's Doubles and coming in second in Doubles twice at Wimbeldon.

You know more tennis than I do. I immediately thought Reneberg, although Claire Sessions was pretty awesome, too.

Greatest coach in SMU tennis history? Dennis Ralston or Carl Neufeld?

I'm old enough to have seen Ralston play. But didn't we get to NCAA finals with Neufeld.

We got to the Final Four in 2001 matching the feat from 1986, which I believe would have been under Ralston.

That raises a question I have had about these threads ID-ing the greatest player in different sports or at different positions: are they supposed to consider pro careers, too? Or just their time at SMU? Because those can be very different answers.

By all means, pick either one. Just trying to bring some life to this board.

Johan Brunstrom was pretty solid at SMU and has had a fairly solid doubles career on the ATP Tour.

OK, I was always partial to Genius Chidzikwe. The couple of times I saw him play, he completely wrecked the guys he played against.
